Quenya
is the original language of Tolkien's Elves. Quenya remained in use from the time of the
Awakening of the Elves until at least the end of the Third Age.
That means is was in use on three continents (Middle Earth, the
Blessed Lands, and Númenor) for thousands of years. In the
Blessed Lands it was the ordinary spoken language. In
Middle Earth and Númenor it was mainly a scholarly language.
This course began as a
class in the Quenya language, which I was teaching in Second Life, at
Alqualonde the Swanhaven, in 2011. I continue to revise and update it here.
This is the tentative course schedule. I will be adding links to each section, as I get the lessons posted.
